Requirements

- Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
- Experience: No experience (will train)
- Language: English
- Citizenship: A Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada, or a temporary resident of Canada with a valid work permit
- Licensure: Dental Hygienist licensure by the appropriate provincial or territorial governing body
- Security & Safety: Immunization records
- Work setting: Dental practice

- Conduct initial dental assessments
- Consult with dentists on patient care
- Take dental impressions
- Instruct patients regarding oral hygiene
- Clean and stimulate the gums to prevent gum disease
- Apply fluoride treatment
- Remove stains and deposits from teeth
