Their mission critical practice is established, well regarded, and delivering live hyperscale and colocation projects for some of the most active data centre developers and operators across the globe.

The practice has seen a notable uplift in successful project tenders and has full backing to grow. The investment in Australia's data centre market is generating one of the strongest project pipelines seen across construction, and they intend to win their share of it. This has resulted in a newly created Technical Director position, sitting on the national executive committee, with a focus on combining technical authority, client advisory, and strategic work winning.

The Opportunity

As Technical Director, Mission Critical, you will:

- Provide technical leadership and design authority across the practice's most complex hyperscale and colocation projects
- Act as trusted technical advisor to major data centre clients, developers, and operators, deepening existing relationships and opening new ones
- Set and uphold technical standards across data centre design and delivery, including emerging technologies such as liquid cooling and high density design
- Mentor and grow the technical team, lifting capability and building succession depth
- Lead technical input into bids, pursuits, and client presentations as a central figure in the practice's work winning strategy




- Shape the growth direction of the mission critical business alongside executive leadership

Who You Are

- Currently operating at Technical Director, Director, Associate Director or Principal level within an engineering design consultancy
- 12+ years' experience with deep data centre credentials across hyperscale and/or colocation projects
- Strong technical grounding in either electrical infrastructure or mechanical and cooling systems, ideally with Uptime Institute Tier classification and commissioning coordination experience
- Established relationships with data centre clients, developers, or operators in the Australian or international market
- A visible technical presence across advisory, design, bid leadership and keynote speaking or published thinking in the mission critical space
- Committed to mentoring and developing engineers around you
- Chartered status (CPEng, NER, CEng or equivalent) highly regarded
- Based in Australia, or a solid international candidate (APAC, UK, EU, USA) will be considered

Package

Circa $300,000 plus discretionary bonus, with flexibility for an exceptional candidate.
