We are passionate about helping homeowners and businesses recover following insured events and, due to continued growth, are seeking an experienced Insurance Building Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will deliver a seamless end-to-end customer experience while managing the assessment, estimating, and restoration process with professionalism and care.
About the role:
As an Insurance Building Estimator, you will be the key point of contact for clients, policyholders, insurers, and subcontractors throughout the repair and restoration process.
You will be responsible for conducting site inspections, preparing detailed repair estimates and scopes of work for residential and commercial insurance claims, and supporting the delivery of reinstatement projects from assessment through to completion.
This position services Melbourne Metropolitan and surrounding regions, with occasional interstate travel required to support major event responses when demand increases across our national network.
- This role will service Metro Melbourne and surrounding areas.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Conduct site inspections and damage assessments following insured events
- Prepare accurate estimates, scopes of work, and reports in accordance with insurer requirements and Policy Disclosure Statements (PDS)
- Liaise with insurance partners, policyholders, trades, and internal stakeholders
- Support project delivery and work closely with the Construction Manager
- Monitor repair progress, ensuring works are completed on time,
within budget, and to a high standard
- Manage variations, costs, and quality throughout the restoration process
- Ensure compliance with all relevant WHS, legislative, and company requirements
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting throughout each project
- Apply sound knowledge of the National Construction Code (NCC), Building Code of Australia (BCA), and relevant Australian Standards
Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in insurance building repairs, restoration, or construction estimation
- Trade qualification or trade background highly regarded
- Strong knowledge of residential and commercial building practices
- White Card (essential)
- Sound understanding of NCC, building regulations, and WHS requirements
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- High level of computer literacy and confidence using estimating and project management software
- Robust attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Self-motivated, organised, and committed to delivering quality outcomes
