Machine Fitters / Assemblers, Sheetmetal Workers or Machinery Fabricators

Due to a strong pipeline of work, Australis Engineering has a vacancy for a range of metal tradespeople such as Machine Fitters or Assemblers, Sheetmetal Workers or Machinery Fabricators and 2nd Class Tradespeople to assist in the fabrication, fitting and installation of our robotics, conveyor, pallet handling and food processing systems from our premises in Condell Park (Sydney).

- Potentially suitable for senior, mid or entry level tradespeople

- You will have a mix of site work and jobs in our workshop. Site work is a must, so your own transport is essential

- Periodic overtime required

What we need:

- You should have a Cert III or equivalent Metal Trades qualification (eg Machine Fitter, Sheetmetal worker, Fabricator or 2nd Class Tradesperson)

- Experience working on stainless steel is highly desirable but not essential

- Site installation experience highly desirable

- Experience fabricating or assembling machinery for food, pharma or beverage clients is highly desirable





- MIG and TIG welding skills useful

- Must be able to read and interpret a workshop drawing

- Willingness to perform occasional overtime including weekends is essential.

- Willingness to perform site work around Sydney, NSW regional areas or interstate is essential

- Must be punctual, reliable and happy to work in a team environment

- Must have a valid Australian drivers licence and own transport

- Must have at least at least a basic set of your own hand tools

- Must be an Australian citizen or have an approved visa allowing full time employment (roles are not suitable for visa sponsorship)

Nice to have but not essential:

- Forklift licence

- Construction white card

- EWP licence

- First aid certificate

Remuneration

- We are looking for qualified tradespeople and will offer hourly wages approximately in the $40 to $48/ hr range dependent on your workplace experience, seniority, abilities and available start date. Superannuation is in addition. These are rates for permanent staff not casual rates, so you will receive your normal leave and super entitlements on top of these rates

- We pay site travel and vehicle expenses, or provide company pool vehicles

- There's scope for a company ute for a senior tradesperson who agrees to a heavy site work focus.
