Join our Parks and Natural Areas team and play a key role in maintaining Council's horticultural assets across the Shire.As a Horticulturist, you will undertake a variety of hands‐on horticultural maintenance activities, helping to ensure our parks and public spaces remain safe, attractive, and enjoyable for the community.
Working as part of a dedicated team, you'll contribute to the delivery of high‐quality open space maintenance services while prioritising safety, environmental responsibility and customer service.What you'll be doingMaintaining parks, gardens, streetscapes, and other horticultural assets across the ShireUndertake planting, mulching, watering, fertilisingand weed control activitiesCarry out turf maintenance, including mowing, whipper snipping, and turf renovation practicesOperating and maintaining horticultural plant, equipment, and machineryApplying horticultural chemicals in accordance with legislative and Council requirementsConducting site safety assessments and implementing protected work practicesReporting asset defects and maintenance requirementsProviding courteous and professional customer service to residents and stakeholdersMaintaining accurate work records and participating in continuous improvement initiativesAbout youYou are a motivated horticultural professional who takes pride in delivering high‐quality work and enjoys working outdoors as part of a team.To be successful in this role,



you will have:EssentialCertificate III in Horticulture or equivalent qualificationChemCert (AQF3) or equivalent qualificationNSW White CardCurrent Class MR Licence or willingness to obtain within six months of appointmentRecent experience in horticultural maintenance or a similar roleDemonstrated knowledge of horticultural practices and chemical applicationStrong understanding of workplace health and safety requirementsEffective communication and teamwork skillsPermanent full‐time position38‐hour week with a 9‐day fortnightOpportunity to work across a diverse range of parks, gardens, and open spacesSupportive team environment with ongoing training and development opportunitiesMeaningful work that contributes directly to the quality of life of our communityJoin our Team and Grow with Us!
