We are seeking an experienced State Transport Manager to lead contractor performance across NSW and ensure our network delivers safe, compliant, and high-performing services.

The Opportunity
The State Transport Manager will oversee the performance, compliance, and commercial management of transport contractors operating within the state.
You will play a critical role in strengthening contractor accountability, monitoring operational performance, and driving continuous improvement across the transport network.
This role will focus on delivering strong outcomes across Cost, Quality, Safety, and Contractor Compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee transport contractor performance across NSW, ensuring delivery against operational KPIs including service levels, cost, safety, and quality.Monitor and analyse transport data to identify performance trends and drive continuous improvement.Manage contractor relationships, performance reviews, and corrective actions where required.Ensure contractors meet all compliance requirements, including contractual obligations, licensing, and Chain of Responsibility (CoR)



regulations.Monitor transport costs and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and network performance.Work collaboratively with warehouse, routing, and planning teams to optimise delivery outcomes and resolve service issues.Lead network route optimisation initiatives to improve delivery efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levels across the NSW network.Manage transport operations across multiple offsite locations, ensuring consistent performance, compliance, and service standards are maintained at each site.Support contractor onboarding, incident investigations, and operational improvement initiatives.
About You
You are an experienced transport or logistics skilled who understands how to balance operational performance, contractor relationships, and compliance requirements.
You bring a proactive and solutions-focused mindset, with the ability to analyse performance data, address operational challenges, and work collaboratively with contractors and internal teams to deliver strong outcomes.
Ideally, you will have:
Experience in transport, logistics, or supply chain operationsA solid understanding of Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and transport compliance obligationsExperience managing transport KPIs, contractor performance, or service delivery frameworksStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsA practical, hands-on approach to improving operational performance
