About the position
Are you passionate about risk management, governance and helping
organisations make informed decisions?
The City of Wanneroo is seeking a proactive and motivated Senior
Risk Management Officer to join our Office of the CEO.
Reporting to
the Coordinator Risk Management, you will play a key role in
delivering the City's enterprise risk management framework,
providing expert advice and supporting business units to identify,
assess and manage risk across a broad range of services and
projects.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to organisational
resilience and continuous improvement while working collaboratively
with leaders across one of Western Australia's fastest-growing
local governments.
What you'll be doing
As Senior Risk Management Officer, you will:
• Provide expert advice and guidance on enterprise risk management
across the organisation.
• Support the implementation and ongoing improvement of the City's
Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
• Facilitate risk workshops and assist business units to identify,
assess and manage organisational risks.
• Review and monitor corporate risk registers, ensuring controls
and mitigation strategies remain effective.
• Coordinate the review and maintenance of the City's Crisis
Management and Business Continuity Plans.
• Prepare high-quality reports, recommendations and risk analysis
to support informed decision-making.
• Identify opportunities for business improvement and promote a
positive risk management culture.
• Maintain risk registers, databases and reporting systems to
ensure information is accurate, current and compliant.
• Build strong working relationships with internal and external
stakeholders to deliver quality customer-focused outcomes.
About you
You are an organised and analytical professional who enjoys working
collaboratively to solve problems and improve business outcomes.
You communicate confidently with stakeholders at all levels and are




comfortable managing competing priorities in a dynamic
environment.
You will also have:
• Qualifications in Risk Management or a related discipline, or
equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience in a risk management, governance or compliance role
within a large and complex organisation.
• Well-developed analytical, research and problem-solving
skills.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills with the ability
to prepare clear, accurate reports.
• Experience facilitating discussions, providing advice and
building effective stakeholder relationships.
• Sound knowledge of risk management principles and relevant
legislation.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing
priorities.
• A current C Class Driver's Licence.
• Local Government experience will be highly regarded but is not
essential.
