SESA Safety & Environmental Services Australia – Moorebank NSWSESA – Safety & Environmental Services Australia requires an experienced asbestos analyst to undertake samples analysis and assist in the ongoing management of the NATA accredited asbestos and microbiology analytical laboratory in Moorebank, NSW.
As well as analysing asbestos samples in the lab, you will also enjoy working out in the field undertaking asbestos and hazardous materials surveys, learning skills in occupational hygiene consulting and be mentored by a certified occupational hygienist.To be considered for this role you will ideally have:A relevant tertiary qualification in Science, Environmental Science, occupational hygiene or a related fieldSolid experience in analysing asbestos including fibre counting to the requirements of the membrane filter method and asbestos fibre identification to the requirements of Australian Standards AS**** and AS****Experience in calibration and maintenance of air sampling pumps and laboratory equipmentUnderstanding of ISO ***** standard and associated laboratory procedures and suggest improvements to the laboratory quality manualProcessing of laboratory data,



records and preparation of analytical reportsExperience in asbestos surveying and reporting and asbestos assessor license is highly desirable but not essential as training will be providedA full driver's licenceBOHS P401 and P403 or equivalent is highly desirableProficiency testing Australia (PTA) satisfactory results.To be successful in the role you will:Have a minimum of 1 year experience in similar roleHave excellent oral and written communication skillsBe able to work independently and as part of a teamBe proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPointBe flexible to work outside normal business hours if requiredHave excellent organisational skills and attention to detailsHave good knowledge of current health and safety legislation and awareness.A competitive remuneration package will be offered to the right candidate commensurate with qualifications and experience.
