Our fleet plays a critical role in live bird transport, bulk feed delivery, and egg transport across the country.We are seeking an experienced Truck Fleet Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at our Mareeba depot.
This role is ideal for someone with practical mechanical experience who can keep a busy fleet moving by tackling day to day issues, identifying faults early, addressing driver fault reports ensuring vehicles remain secure and operational.
Major repairs are outsourced to specialist workshops — your focus is on fast,



effective frontline maintenance.Your ResponsibilitiesDiagnose and repair day to day mechanical issues on trucks and trailersConduct routine servicing and basic mechanical maintenancePerform tyre repairs and replacementsIdentify or follow up driver fault reports and escalte major repairs to external workshopsCarry out general inspections and safety checksSupport breakdown response when requiredMaintain clean, safe work areas and assist with general yard dutiesWork independently and take initiative to keep the fleet operationalAbout YouHands‐on experience with truck or heavy trailer fleet maintenance (no trade qualification required, but is preferred)Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‐solving skillsAbility to work unsupervised and make sound decisionsReliable, safety‐focused, and committed to quality workmanshipAble to work Monday to Friday with flexibility for occasional overtimeWhat We OfferFull‐time hours: Monday to FridayWeekly pay with overtime and penalty ratesCompany uniform providedService vehicle providedStable, long‐term employment with a supportive team
