Successful applicant will enjoy working in a professional, single specialty, single theatre surgery with scrub/scout responsibilities 2 to 3 days per week.We are a specialist provider of ophthalmic services in beautiful Port Macquarie on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales.
Our day surgery unit assists hundreds of patients retain and restore their sight every year.
Specialising in cataract, glaucoma and vitrectomy surgeries and intravitreal injections.
We take pride in providing a high quality, friendly and professional service.About the roleThis Theatre Nurse position offers an opportunity to broaden your skill set to learn all the elements of Peri-operative Ophthalmic Surgery.
You will have the opportunity to work in theatre (scrub and scout) as well as DPU (admissions, discharges, and recovery).
The position will suit a theatre nurse interested in working in a collaborative team.Your Role and Responsibilities:Practice always according to your nursing registration commitment to the Code of Conduct for Nurses.Fulfil the responsibilities of an enrolled/registered nurse in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia's Enrolled/Registered Nurse Standards for Practice ****.Use the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHS) and PMOS policies and procedures to inform your nursing practice.Have a strong knowledge of and commitment to ACORN Standards.Have a growth mindset and continued commitment to on-going learning and career development.Assist in the planning and implementation of care plans as discussed with team members.Promote staff and patient safety.Assess and recognise clinical changes and respond appropriately.Ensure patient and business privacy and confidentiality.The BenefitsNo on call.Single speciality.Training and mentoring provided.Excellent working conditions within a caring team environment.Open Monday – Friday.Promotes a great work-life balance.Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration.Immunisation status must be current.A growth mindset.Enthusiasm for learning.Computer literacy and ability to learn new programs.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Effective time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads.Sound clinical decision making and problem-solving skills.The successful applicant will be a professional, friendly, empathetic, and enthusiastic nurse who works well in a team environment to assist patients, doctors, and the day surgery team in delivering high quality care.
