Bouygues Bâtiment International (BBI) is the international division of Bouygues Construction, specialized in delivering complex buildings projects worldwide.Joining BBI means working in a multicultural and innovative setting, at the heart of ambitious construction projects.The position is based at the AW Edwards head office in Sydney, a subsidiary of Bouygues Bâtiment International, and reports to the Senior Cost Controller within the Finance & Accounting team.Your roleAs an Assistant Cost Controller, you will contribute to the financial management of projects by supporting operational teams in monitoring and analysing costs.Cost Management - CommitmentsMonitor and control committed project costsManage Purchase Orders and ensure correct WBS allocationReview and validate invoices (with or without Purchase Orders)Ensure proper approval workflows are followedMonitor outstanding Purchase Orders and close them when necessaryContribute to monthly accruals and cost recognition processesCost Management - SubcontractorsVerify correct allocation of subcontractor costs within systems (Edifice)Review and validate subcontractor claims and variationsEnsure proper follow-up of subcontract final accounts in coordination with Contract AdministratorsContribute to monthly financial reporting and forecasting activitiesAnalyse cost variances, identify risks and opportunitiesChallenge forecasts with Project Managers and Contract AdministratorsSupport budget reallocations and maintain the project WBS structureParticipate in monthly financial review meetings with project teamsEnsure compliance with internal control procedures and data reliabilityClient InterfaceSupport the preparation and follow-up of client claimsMonitor payments and track contractual variations and their financial impactInternal interfacesWork closely with Project Managers, Contract Administrators, Finance and Accounting teamsYour profileMaster's degree in Finance, Business, Engineering or equivalentFirst experience in project cost control / finance (internship, apprenticeship or initial work experience)Strong Excel skills and interest in financial tools (SAP is a plus)Good understanding of project management principles (budgeting, forecasting, reporting)Strong analytical and organisational skillsAccuracy and reliabilityTeam spirit and collaborative mindsetAbility to challenge and communicate effectivelyAdaptability in an international and multicultural environmentFluent English is mandatory to operate in this environment.Practical informationLocation: Sydney, AustraliaHousing allowance: *****€/month in addition to VIE allowanceRound-trip flights covered by the company
