Job Description
MAKHDOOM HOLDINGS PTY LTD As a Motor Mechanic at Makhdoom Holdings Pty Ltd T/A High St Smash , you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing and maintaining the mechanical systems of a variety of light motor vehicles.
You will also assist with mechanical repairs required as part of accident-damaged vehicle restoration.
The successful applicant will ensure that all vehicles are repaired accurately and returned to customers in a safe and roadworthy condition.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose mechanical and engine faults using diagnostic equipment, scanning tools and appropriate testing procedures.
Remove and dismantle engines, transmissions, steering assemblies and other mechanical components for inspection and repair.
Examine mechanical parts to identify wear, damage, defects and required repairs.
Repair or replace worn, damaged or defective components and reassemble mechanical systems according to manufacturer specifications.
Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance, including oil changes, lubrication, fluid checks and engine adjustments.
Inspect and repair mechanical damage resulting from vehicle accidents and collisions.
Use computerised diagnostic systems to detect faults, analyse vehicle data and determine appropriate repairs.
Inspect vehicles and determine the work required to meet roadworthiness and safety standards.
Conduct final testing and road tests after completing repairs where required.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, services and replacement parts used.
Follow workplace health and safety requirements and accepted automotive industry practices.
Qualifications and Requirements
Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or an equivalent automotive qualification.
Minimum of one year of relevant experience as a Motor Mechanic.
Strong knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, servicing and mechanical repair procedures.
Ability to use automotive tools, diagnostic scanners and workshop equipment effectively.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a workshop team.
