The Position

I am seeking a MRCGP (UK), MICGP or FRNZGP qualified GP who would like to make a move to Bridport in Tasmania, and join a small seaside practice which is supported by a larger ‘sister’ practice twenty‑minute drive away. The practice is currently open Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, but we are seeking an applicant who will cover 4–5 days a week.

The Location & Clinic

Situated on the north coast of Tasmania, the small seaside town of Bridport is very popular amongst holiday makers, and is well known for its breath‑taking ocean views, pristine beaches, fishing, hiking and bushwalking prospects.

Bridport is also home to Barnbougle Dunes and Lost Farm Golf Courses, both ranked in the world’s top 25 by Golf Digest magazine, with the Dunes course ahead of the iconic Pebble Beach course in California and Kingston Heath in Melbourne.

Bridport is also a excellent spot for river or sea fishing, and the surrounding area offers many world‑class attractions including Blue Derby, Tasmania’s world‑renowned mountain biking park.





The practice is now bulk billing and provides a range of medical services to the small coastal town and wider regional community, including minor procedures, vaccinations, mental health and chronic disease management, antenatal care, family planning, emergency care, skin checks and travel medicine.

It’s a well‑established practice with a large patient base.

Applicant Requirements

This position is available for AHPRA Expedited pathway applicants (see below) or FACRRM/FRACGP applicants.

UK GPs must hold: MRCGP & CCT (under any RCGP curriculum from 2007)

Irish GPs must hold: MICGP CSCST (from 2009)

NZ GPs must hold: FRNZCGP (from 2012 onwards) & satisfactory completion of GPEP
