Reporting to the Head of Major Gifts and working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you get the chance to manage a current small portfolio of mid and high-net-worth donors (including SVA Alumni and SVA Supporters Network) whilst identifying and securing recent donors to support SVA's philanthropic fundraising.The role would suit a creative and dynamic major gift fundraising professional with initiative, (previous not for profit experience preferred),
who enjoys prospecting and thrives in working in a collaborative setting.This is an excellent opportunity to advance your major gift fundraising career and play a key role in growing philanthropic support for SVA's diverse programs.RESPONSIBILITIESIdentify aligned high net worth philanthropic prospects, lead initial contact and leverage wider team to engage and inform prospectsManage and grow portfolio of mid-tier philanthropic donors across all aspects of the fundraising cycle (research, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship) and support the stewarding of all SVA's major donors and Family foundations.Deliver annual fundraising goals through stewardship and growth of SVA's existing and new supporter baseWork with the Head of Major Gifts on growth and retention strategies for SVA Supporters networkCoordinate events for the Major Gifts team as well as contributing towards events for the wider Partnerships teamDevelop proposals, ensuring alignment to SVA's mission, programs and Gift Acceptance PolicyDevelop strong relationships internally and externally, ensuring that donor engagement plans are executed, and contractual/agreed milestones are metCollaborate closely with teams across SVA, ensuring the funder relationship draws on appropriate subject matter expertise throughout the fundraising cycleAssist with research, donor communications and preparing briefs for the Leadership Team as requiredRepresent SVA at meetings and eventsEnsure effective data integrity to align with best practiceContribute to team goals and participate in organisational initiatives and activities as required,
ensuring a safe and healthy workplace for all colleagues and stakeholdersParticipate in and support organisational change initiatives and model SVA valuesAbility to travel nationally and attend events outside of standard office hours as required.YOUR SKILLS & ATTRIBUTESTertiary qualification in business, marketing, arts, social sciences and/or equivalent professional experience in similar environment an advantageCurrent knowledge of philanthropy in Australia with knowledge of international trendsExperience in prospect research & managing relationships with high-net-worth individuals and subject matter experts, monitoring results in accordance with fundraising plansProven success across multiple formats for fundraising including pitches, written proposals, one-on-one meetings, and large fundraising events and online campaignsDemonstrated experience in creating compelling donor journeys and donor communicationsExperience with Xponential's moves management and major gifts approach an advantageExperience in event management highly regarded but not essentialExceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to create compelling stories that captivate and inspire donors to engage with SVAAbility to represent SVA effectively in external environmentsAble to effectively extract critical information and express complex ideasEffective project management skillsWork well under pressure to deliver to budgetsSolutions-focused, proactive & highly collaborativeAbility to work in cross-cultural settings, connect with diverse teams, as well as with donors & supporters, forming long-term relationshipsPassion and commitment in working to further SVA's purposeExperience with Microsoft Office Suite, predominantly Excel, Word, Powerpoint and OutlookExperience with CRM systems, Salesforce an advantage
