About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Registered or Provisional Psychologist who is compassionate, motivated, and committed to delivering high-quality psychological and behavioural support services to older adults across residential aged care facilities and community settings.
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with older Australians, supporting individuals experiencing dementia, grief and loss, anxiety, behavioural concerns, and major life transitions, while being backed by a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
You will:
Provide psychological support and evidence-based therapeutic interventions to older adults in aged care facilities and community settings.
Work with individuals experiencing dementia, anxiety, grief and loss, adjustment challenges, and other age-related mental health concerns.
Develop behavioural support strategies and management plans for clients presenting with complex behaviours and cognitive decline.
Deliver behaviour support services within aged care environments, including both residential aged care facilities (RACF) and community-based care.
Collaborate with families, carers, support teams, and healthcare professionals to ensure person-centred care outcomes.
Prepare high-quality clinical documentation, progress notes, and reports.
Work autonomously while receiving strong support from our experienced clinical leadership and administrative teams.
About You
You are an experienced Registered or Provisional Psychologist who is passionate about supporting older adults and improving quality of life for vulnerable populations.
You understand the unique psychological and behavioural needs associated with ageing and are confident working independently within a community and aged care environment.
Requirements




Current registration (or provisional registration) with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Psychologist.
Previous experience working with older adults, aged care, disability, community care, mental health, or related healthcare settings.
This role is not suited to new graduates.
Strong understanding of dementia, grief and loss, anxiety, behavioural concerns, and life-stage transitions impacting older adults.
Experience in Behaviour Support (BSP) highly regarded, or willingness to obtain Behaviour Support registration and develop skills within behavioural services.
Robust clinical assessment, intervention, and report writing skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Current Police Check, WWCC (or willingness to obtain), and full working rights in Australia.
Ability to travel regularly throughout the Blacktown region, with some community-based work extending towards inner Sydney.
