Only direct applications will be accepted.Description of the role:We are looking for an experienced senior tax accountant wishing to join a successful, senior and hands‐on team combining technical excellence and innovation to deliver client success.
Working directly with the founding partners you will be an integral part of our growing team.
Your key responsibilities include:Tax Compliance and Review:Preparation of income tax returns, FBT returns, BAS/IAS, and annual tax reconciliations for companies, trusts, partnerships, and self-managed superannuation fundsAccounting for Groups, consolidated financial statements, transfer pricing adjustmentsEnsure all deliverables meet ATO standards, internal quality controls, and statutory deadlinesManage year‐end tax processes, including tax provisioning, distribution calculations, and trust resolutionsTechnical Advisory & Issue Resolution:Provide guidance on Income Tax, CGT, Division 7A, UPEs, trust streaming, small business concessions, GST, and Superannuation mattersIdentify tax planning opportunities and support managers/partners in delivering advisory engagementsResearch and interpret legislation, rulings, and case law to resolve complex client issuesClient Relationship Management:Act as day‐to‐day contact for a portfolio of clients, ensuring proactive communication and timely deliveryPresentation of tax positions, risks, and recommendations in explicit, client‐friendly languageSupport onboarding of new clients, including risk assessments and engagement documentationWorkflow, Quality & Risk Management:Maintain compliance with firm policies, ATO requirements, and professional standardsAssist with internal reviews, audit support, and ATO correspondence (reviews, objections,
private rulings)Leverage outsourced resources to ensure efficiency and promote client base growth and diversificationLeadership & Team Development:Team-first behaviourAbility to work autonomously and delegate tasksAssist with training sessionsContribute to knowledge‐sharing initiativesIdeal Candidate:CA/CPA qualified with 5+ years' post qualified experience in AU Tax (public practice), knowledge of US & UK Tax beneficialStrong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to clearly explain technical conceptsFast learner, high attention to detail and strong analytical capabilityStrong knowledge of Australian tax law across Income Tax, CGT, GST, FBT, Trust and SMSF taxationExperience reviewing complex tax returns and tax effect accountingAbility to interpret legislation and apply tax rulings with precisionExperience with cross‐border tax issues, withholding tax, or Transfer Pricing would be beneficialExposure to tax technology platforms (Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB, HandiSoft, SalesForce CRM, Access Ledger, Access Tax, BGL, NowInfinity, Fathom, Claude Cowork)Interest in automation, data integrity, and improving tax reporting systemsDemonstrated experience in managing workflowAbility to manage multiple deadlines and competing prioritiesCommitment to continuous improvement and process optimisationPerformance Indicators:Accuracy and quality of workTimeliness of deliverables and adherence to budgetsClient satisfaction and retentionTeam development and capability upliftContribution to technical excellence and process improvementRole Benefits:Mentoring by the partnersProfessional developmentProfessional and social engagement with the team and clientsInvestment in innovation, technology and AISupportive teamBonus scheme
