Australian Construction Group – Newcastle NSWAustralian Construction Group is a growing construction service provider with capabilities in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Process Piping and Electrical Construction, based in Newcastle NSW.We require a motivated, reliable, and collaborative individual to fill a full-time position currently available within the Company for an HSE Safety Advisor.
This role will predominantly be a FIFO/DIDO role however work within the Newcastle / Hunter Valley region may be a requirement from time to time.
This is an exciting opportuntity to assist and develop safe sytems of work for a rapid growing dynamic business with the potential for growth and development for the right candidiate.The role requirements include:Providing support to the Project Manager, Safety Manager and site personnel,Ensuring copies of relevant legislation, codes of practice are readily accessible to all site personnel.Provide Health and Safety guidance in resolving issues with a view to continuous improvement and elimination of any future Health and Safety incidents.Ensuring ACG and sitesafety inductions are completed, current to legislation and business requirements and ensure compliance.Stopping any work deemed unsafe, intervening on all unsafe behaviour and undertaking all necessary controls to rectify the danger or correct the behaviour prior to recommencing works.Liaising with the Clients in the preparation and maintenanceof the Project Risk Register.Assisting withemergency response training drills and exercises.Reviewing training records and qualifications to ensure each person is competent to perform tasks associated with their position.Conducting formal/ informal audits on the projectscompliance and participate in workplace hazard inspections.Reviewing SWMS, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for compliance to the project standards.Advising the Project Manager and Safety Managerof the state of Health and Safety as applied to the project.Ensuring compliance to ACG systems including, plant and equipment processes, risk management and training requirements.Ensuring statistics are reported in line with project and overall business requirements.Completion of incident investigations and reports.Engaging with site supervision in the completion of required KPI's.Liaising with the ACG Safety Manager in regard to the Projects HSE status and requirements.Required QualificationsMinimum Cert IV in WHSICAM lead investigation TrainingCertification in drug and alcohol testingFirst aid within 3 yearsLevel 2 Confined Space within 3 yearsSafe Working at Heights within 3 yearsLVR/CPR within a yearGeneral Construction InductionRTW qualifications and experience (desirable)What you'll need to succeed:Strong ability to prioritise, and manage multiple competing tasksSelf starter who can work autonomouslyAbility to adapt, demonstrate a positive and a can do attitudeStrong analysis and problem-solving ability with attention to detailExceptional communication and organisational skillsHighly motivated and proactiveHigh level of computer literacy, including MS Office suite skills i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook Adobe etc.5 years'experience in a similar role is highly desirableSign in to start saving jobs in your profile.Don't have a Jora account?
