Superintendent - Community Projects - FIFO to PNG
New Porgera Limited (NPL) is a company incorporated in Papua New Guinea and owns the Porgera Gold Mine in Enga Province.
NPL is a joint venture between Barrick Gold Corporation, Zijin Mining, and the Papua New Guinea Government, combining global mining expertise with a shared commitment to responsible resource development and long-term value creation for Papua New Guinea.
The Porgera Gold Mine will employ nearly 3,000 Papua New Guineans at full production and, over its 30-year operating history, has contributed approximately 10% of Papua New Guinea's total annual exports, making it one of the country's most significant economic assets.
About the role
We are seeking a highly capable and effective Superintendent for our Community Projects.
You will lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers, supervisors and technical officers and manage the planning and delivery of civil, building and infrastructure projects.
Oversee project budgets, schedules, contracts and contractor performance whilst driving continuous improvement across project delivery, safety and operational performance.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, local communities and key stakeholders and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with environmental and statutory requirements.
Support strategic planning,



business improvement initiatives and departmental objective along with a track record of mentoring teams in developing nations will be highly regarded.
About you
Demonstrated success managing medium-scale capital and infrastructure projects.
Possess strong leadership, stakeholder engagement and people management skills along with excellent communication, negotiation and report writing skills.
Proven experience managing project budgets, contracts and multidisciplinary teams whilst ensuring strong safety, environmental and risk management practices are adhered too.
Previous experience working in a remote or culturally diverse environments, particularly Papua New Guinea or similar regions will also be viewed favorably.
