About the Role
Banjo's Bakery Cafe Latrobe is seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Sales Assistant to join our team in Latrobe, TAS.
This is a part time position that offers the perfect opportunity to be part of a vibrant, community-focused bakery cafe.
As a Sales Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service whilst supporting the smooth operation of our retail environment.
This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced setting and take pride in creating positive customer experiences.
What you'll be doing
Serving customers at the counter with warmth and professionalism, taking orders and processing payments
Preparing and packaging bakery items, confectionery and beverages to customer specifications
Maintaining a clean, hygienic and well-organised sales area in compliance with health and safety standards
Assisting with stock rotation, inventory management and restocking display shelves
Operating the point-of-sale system efficiently and handling cash and card transactions
Answering customer enquiries and providing product recommendations with enthusiasm
Supporting promotional activities and special events when required
Communicating effectively with team members to ensure seamless service delivery
What we're looking for
Previous experience/extensive understanding of making hot beverages
Solid communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for helping customers




Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment whilst maintaining attention to detail
Reliability and punctuality with flexibility to work varied part-time hours, including weekends
Numeracy skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing
Basic food hygiene knowledge or willingness to obtain relevant certifications
A positive, respectful attitude and team-oriented mindset
Physical capability to stand for extended periods and handle light lifting
