The It's a Bloke Thing Foundation is a registered not-for-profit organisation dedicated to raising awareness, funding vital research, and improving care for men affected by prostate cancer across Australia.
Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australia, affecting 1 in 5 men in their lifetime.
Education is the key to improving health outcomes and as an educator with It's a Blokes Thing Foundation, you will play a vital role in raising awareness about early detection that could save lives
This role is perfect for someone comfortable presenting to audiences of all sizes and available to travel throughout regional Queensland to present to a wide range of audiences. A knowledge of, or lived experience of prostate cancer would help deliver insight and knowledge to your audience, though this is not essential. If you have a passion and the skills to make a real difference in the lives of men in regional Queensland and you are looking for a flexible role – we would love to hear from you.
Please note you will be retained in a contractor role, which means you will not be an employee of It's a Bloke Thing Foundation but in return, you will benefit from the work/life flexibility the arrangement provides.
In this role You will be able to:
Deliver engaging, empathetic, clear education on prostate cancer awareness and early detection
Present to groups of all sizes in an approachable, engaging manner
Travel throughout the region, supporting urban, regional and remote communities




Provide support to individuals and families by offering vital information and resources aligned to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia
What are we looking for:
Someone who is passionate about sharing knowledge in a way that empowers others
Someone with a genuine interest in building relationships and engaging with a diverse community
Excellent people skills – you will be approachable, reliable and confident in speaking with a wide range of audiences
You will be self-motivated and able to manage competing priorities
To be considered for this role, you should have:
Demonstrated experience delivering community health related programmes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports and presentations
The ability to travel throughout Queensland, which may occasionally involve nights away from home
Previous demonstrated experience in community engagement is desirable
