About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Project Accountant to join our Advisory Services finance team in Sydney. Reporting directly to the Finance Director - Advisory Services, this role plays a key part in supporting the Project & Development Services (PDS) finance function.
You will provide financial insight, commercial support, and accurate reporting across a portfolio of projects, working closely with Project Managers and senior stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong project accounting experience who enjoys working in a cooperative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Update and maintain Work in Progress (WIP) reporting based on Finance Control Sheets from Project Managers
Prepare monthly client billings, revenue and expense accruals, including supporting documentation
Assist with Percentage of Completion (PoC) calculations, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger in line with accounting policies
Support month-end activities, including accruals, margin analysis, and cash flow reporting
Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documentation and insights
Provide financial guidance and training to Project Managers on budgets, cost tracking, and processes




Identify and drive process improvements across finance operations
Provide ad hoc support to the Finance Lead and broader finance team
About You
CA or CPA qualified (or currently working towards)
Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, or Accounting
3+ years' experience in project accounting, with strong exposure to Percentage of Completion (PoC) methodology
Solid understanding of IFRS 15 and its application in project-based environments
Broad accounting experience (ideally 5+ years) with strong technical capability
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality output
