About the role:
The Senior Clinician Emergency Mental Health (EMH) will work both autonomously in the Emergency Department (ED) setting providing high level clinical mental health consultation, and as an essential part of the wider EMH and ED teams in Western Health's priorities to deliver timely and safe care to mental health consumers in Western Health emergency departments. EMH Clinicians also provide a support and assessment service with Victoria Police known as Mental Health and Police Response (MHaP).
Key responsibilities:
Provide high level mental health consultation within Western Health ED departments.
Develop appropriate consumer mental state, risk assessment and planning to inform mental health care and support on discharge or transfer from the Western Health ED departments.
Work collaboratively with western health emergency department and drug health services colleagues, and with key stakeholders with mental health services (Victoria Police, Ambulance Victoria, Forensic Mental Health Services, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services).
About you:
You have a minimum 5 years' demonstrated experience in a variety of clinical mental health settings, including acute mental health.
You enjoy working in a highly collaborative, fast paced and dynamic emergency department model of care.
You are a role model in professional mental health clinical care and an advocate for timely and trauma informed consumer focussed care.
