ROLE
Are you looking to use your previous major gift/strategic consultative sales experience for an inspiring, values-led and impact driven not-for-profit?
Reporting to the Head of Major Gifts and working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you get the chance to manage a current small portfolio of mid and high-net-worth donors (including SVA Alumni and SVA Supporters Network) whilst identifying and securing new donors to support SVA's philanthropic fundraising.
The role would suit a creative and dynamic major gift fundraising professional with initiative, (previous not for profit experience preferred), who enjoys prospecting and thrives in working in a collaborative environment.
This is an excellent opportunity to advance your major gift fundraising career and play a key role in growing philanthropic support for SVA's diverse programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify aligned high net worth philanthropic prospects, lead initial contact and leverage wider team to engage and inform prospects
Manage and grow portfolio of mid-tier philanthropic donors across all aspects of the fundraising cycle (research, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship) and support the stewarding of all SVA's major donors and Family foundations.
Deliver annual fundraising goals through stewardship and growth of SVA's existing and new supporter base
Work with the Head of Major Gifts on growth and retention strategies for SVA Supporters network
Coordinate events for the Major Gifts team as well as contributing towards events for the wider Partnerships team
Develop proposals, ensuring alignment to SVA's mission, programs and Gift Acceptance Policy
Develop strong relationships internally and externally, ensuring that donor engagement plans are executed, and contractual/agreed milestones are met
Collaborate closely with teams across SVA, ensuring the funder relationship draws on appropriate subject matter expertise throughout the fundraising cycle
Assist with research, donor communications and preparing briefs for the Leadership Team as required
Represent SVA at meetings and events
Ensure effective data integrity to align with best practice
Contribute to team goals and participate in organisational initiatives and activities as required, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all colleagues and stakeholders
Participate in and support organisational change initiatives and model SVA values
Ability to travel nationally and attend events outside of standard office hours as required.
YOUR SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
Tertiary qualification in business, marketing, arts, social sciences and/or equivalent professional experience in similar environment an advantage
Current knowledge of philanthropy in Australia with knowledge of international trends
Experience in prospect research & managing relationships with high-net-worth individuals and subject matter experts, monitoring results in accordance with fundraising plans
Proven success across multiple formats for fundraising including pitches, written proposals, one-on-one meetings, and large fundraising events and online campaigns
Demonstrated experience in creating compelling donor journeys and donor communications
Experience with Xponential's moves management and major gifts approach an advantage
Experience in event management highly regarded but not essential
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to create compelling stories that captivate and inspire donors to engage with SVA
Ability to represent SVA effectively in external environments
Able to effectively extract critical information and express complex ideas
Effective project management skills
Work well under pressure to deliver to budgets
Solutions-focused, proactive & highly collaborative
Ability to work in cross-cultural settings, connect with diverse teams, as well as with donors & supporters, forming long-term relationships
Passion and commitment in working to further SVA's purpose
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, predominantly Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Outlook
Experience with CRM systems, Salesforce an advantage
