About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager People & Culture, the Safety and Wellbeing Manager leads work health and safety, wellbeing, workers compensation and return to work across our sites.
This is a hands‐on leadership role with genuine scope to shape how safety is understood and practised across the organisation.2
You will set the safety and wellbeing strategy and translate it into practical plans, systems and behaviours on the ground.
Day to day, you will lead and support the WHS team, oversee incident and hazard management, run the internal audit and inspection schedule, manage claims and return-to-work outcomes through a proactive Loss Prevention Recovery (LPR) approach, and partner with SafeWork NSW, insurers, brokers, senior leaders and operational teams.
The role is based in North Ryde and requires regular travel — driving and flying — to sites across the Sydney metropolitan area and regional NSW.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the safety and wellbeing strategy, frameworks and annual WHS plan, and drive their delivery across all sites
Lead, coach and develop the WHS team
Manage workers compensation end to end, including claims, insurer and broker relationships, and return-to-work outcomes using the Loss Prevention Recovery (LPR) model
Oversee incident and hazard management, investigations, corrective actions and regulatory notifications, including SafeWork NSW obligations
Develop and deliver the internal audit schedule, site inspections and compliance activities
Analyse WHS data, incident trends and audit findings, and provide accurate, timely reporting to leadership and governance forums
Influence and partner with senior leaders and operational teams to embed safe work practices and a positive safety culture
Design and deliver proactive injury prevention and wellbeing initiatives that reduce incidents and improve claims outcomes
Maintain WHS policies, procedures and systems in line with current legislation, practices and standards
Travel regularly to sites across the Sydney metropolitan area and regional NSW
About You
Minimum – Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (degree qualification in WHS, wellbeing, risk, human resources or a related discipline preferred)
Minimum – five years' experience in both WHS and Workers Compensation (ideally with the LPR Plus model)
Experience with the Loss Prevention Recovery model and proactive workers compensation strategies
Comprehensive knowledge of relevant WHS legislation, practices and standards relevant to the role
Demonstrated experience in completing internal audits
Ability to develop and report on accurate WHS issues in a timely manner
Demonstrated capability coaching leaders and influencing operational teams to embed safe work practices
Experience leading WHS or wellbeing programs in a multi‐site, human services, disability, aged care, not‐for‐profit or similarly regulated environment (highly regarded)
Willingness to drive & fly between sites & external locations regularly (regional NSW)
Demonstrated intermediate computer skills including Office 365 and various other software applications
Requirements
