U-Go Mobility is looking forQualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanicsto join our team in Menai.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our company and grow with the U-Go Mobility brand while working to industry-standard practices.
Purpose:
To repair and maintain company vehicles to the standard required by the Company to achieve maximum vehicle availability across Menai and Taren Point.
Work will predominantly be carried out at depot locations, however there may be some ad hoc roadside work should a bus break down while in service.
To be responsible for working in a safe manner as stated in current legislation and company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities and tasks:
Inspect, diagnose, service and repair buses and other company vehicles.
Carry out thorough fleet inspections that meet legal and company standards.
Complete scheduled servicing in line with manufacturer and OEM guidelines.
Road test vehicles to confirm repairs and secure performance.
Attend breakdowns and roadside callouts to get buses back in service safely and quickly.
Clearly record all defects and the work done to fix them.
Prepare vehicles for RMS inspections, insurance and registration renewals.
Keep accurate, up-to-date records in the Asset Management System.
Work well with minimal supervision.
Communicate well with operations and the rest of the workshop team.
Support and mentor apprentices and trade assistants, and help us keep improving how we work.
Take on other reasonable tasks as directed by the Leading Hand or supervisor.
Work flexible hours when needed to keep the fleet available and meet Peak Vehicle Requirement (PVR) targets.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
Current NSW MVTC Motor Mechanic trade certificate.
Computer literacy for accurate maintenance record keeping.
Capability to supervise and assist in training apprentices and trade assistants.
Ability to operate safely in a workshop environment.
Current MR driver's license, or the ability to obtain one.
TAFE Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology.
Experience with scan tools and diagnostic equipment.
Experience in bus maintenance and public transport operations.
