Hourly Rate: $40 - $45 per hour + super (dependent on experience)

About the Role
We are partnering with a well-established member-owned financial institution to secure an experienced Settlements and Variations Officer for a rapid-paced, 3-month contract.
This is a backend operations role. You will step into a supportive team to assist with a high volume of end-to-end mortgage processing, variations, and discharges. Because of the short-term nature of this engagement, we need someone who can hit the ground running.
Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end mortgage loan settlements and documentation for purchases, refinances, and discharges.
Process loan variations, account closures, and product switch requests.
Support construction loan drawdowns and prepare loan contracts/payout figures.
Instruct panel solicitors and coordinate daily settlement activities.
Manage and action incoming requests via the team’s shared Settlements and Variations mailbox.
Provide high-level operational support to internal branches, brokers, and third-party stakeholders.
What You Need to Succeed
Experience: Minimum 3 years of end-to-end mortgage settlement and post-approval processing experience within an Australian bank or lender. (Mutual banking/credit union experience is highly regarded).
Compliance: Tier 2 FSRA qualification is mandatory.
Technical Skills: Sound understanding of loan contracts, mortgages, certificates of title, and PEXA.
Attributes: High attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure to meet strict settlement deadlines, and robust stakeholder communication skills.
Availability: Must be available to commence immediately or within a 1-week notice period.
