Safeguarding, Complaints and Investigations Officer

Creating Links is seeking an experienced and values-driven Safeguarding, Complaints and Investigations Officer to join our Quality, Risk and Practice Team. You'll lead investigations, manage complaints and safeguarding concerns, work closely with regulators and support our teams to strengthen practice and improve outcomes for the people we support.

About the Role
Reporting to the Executive Manager Quality, Risk and Practice, you will be responsible for managing organisational complaints, reportable conduct matters, misconduct matters, breaches of the Carer Code of Conduct and NDIS reportable incidents.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing complaints, safeguarding concerns, reportable conduct matters and NDIS reportable incidents.




Conducting and coordinating investigations, including interviews, evidence gathering and report writing.
Providing advice and support to managers and operational teams on safeguarding and complaints management.
Working with regulators including the Office of the Children's Guardian, DCJ and the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
Analysing complaint and safeguarding data, identifying trends and risks, and recommending improvements to systems and practice.
Supporting Child Safe Standards implementation and other safeguarding initiatives.
This role would suit someone who enjoys balancing detailed investigation work with the opportunity to influence practice and contribute to organisational improvement.
About You
You are a confident and highly professional investigator with strong safeguarding knowledge and exceptional judgement. You may have worked in child protection, out-of-home care, disability services, quality and safeguarding, complaints management, investigations or a related field.
What you bring
ABachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Social Science, Disability, Law, or a related field (or equivalent relevant industry experience).
Experience managing complex complaints, safeguarding matters, reportable conduct matters and/or NDIS reportable incidents.
Robust investigation, interviewing and report-writing skills.
Knowledge of safeguarding principles, child-safe practice, trauma-informed approaches and procedural fairness.
Experience working with regulators or statutory bodies.
The ability to navigate sensitive situations with professionalism, empathy and integrity.
A commitment to improving outcomes for children, youngpeople and people with disability.
Current NSW WorkingWithChildren Check.
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
Current Criminal History Check.
Current NSW Driver Licence with access to a comprehensively insured vehicle.
