About the Role
We are seeking a people-focused, highly organised and proactive Group Sales & Tour Account Manager to manage private group relationships in an allocated geographic zone and guide them from first enquiry through to a confirmed, deposit-paid tour.
You bring private group tours into the business through proactive sales and new business development, and you are the club's single point of contact throughout — before, during and after the tour.
This role focuses on sales, account management and business development.
You retain overall ownership of each tour through final quality review and sign-off before departure.
This is a energetic role suited to someone who enjoys variety, relationship-building, and managing multiple priorities.
You will guide private groups to choose the right itinerary, tailoring options to their needs,

and ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience.
This role suits someone who is:
Sales focussed and oriented
A natural people person — confident speaking with individuals and presenting to groups
Strong in organisation, attention to detail, time management, and follow-through
Comfortable juggling multiple accounts and shifting priorities
Energised by both sales and creative planning/ delivery
Passionate about the travel industry and motivated by being part of a business that genuinely makes a difference in people's lives
Key Responsibilities
Generate new business and develop qualified opportunities through disciplined prospecting and outreach
Run structured discovery to understand each clients needs, accessibility and interests before proposals
Prepare tailored draft itineraries and gather all information required for accurate quoting
Liaise with internal teams to secure accommodation allocations and tour dates; secure pricing sign-off.
Issue proposals and convert enquiries into confirmed bookings
Booked Tours
Maintain consistent follow up after confirmation to check passenger numbers
Maintain regular communication with group organisers on special requests, rooming, mobility and dietary needs, and final numbers
Request invoices from Accounts at the defined checkpoints

Hand each tour cleanly to Tour Operations with numbers and dietaries
Review and sign off the final tour pack, send the driver itinerary, and act as on-road contact during the tour
Relationship Management & Territory Growth
Manage all private group accounts within your assigned geographic zone — including identifying new groups and nurturing key existing relationships
Conduct meetings, presentations, club visits, and proactive outreach
Promote upcoming program tours as well as customised itinerary options
Convert new enquiries into confirmed group bookings
Maintain accurate Salesforce records, follow-ups, and opportunity workflows
Manage your sales pipeline with structured, timely communication
Record all calls, meetings, and updates consistently
What We're Looking For
Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
Confidence presenting to groups and conducting outbound calls
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to multitask
Comfortable balancing time on the road with office-based planning
Experience in sales, account management, hospitality, events, or travel (advantageous)
Experience with group travel or the over-60s market is a bonus but not essential
Why Join On Course Travel?
Be part of a respected family-owned company with genuine care and strong values
Enjoy a varied role combining field work, customer engagement, and creative itinerary design
Make a meaningful impact helping groups explore Australia and beyond
Opportunities to host and accompany group tours to amazing destinations
