We are seeking an experienced, motivated and hands-onAgriculture Construction Parts & Machinery Branch Managerto lead our Parts, Machinery Sales and Workshop operations.
Job Summary
The Agriculture Construction Parts & Machinery Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the workshop, parts department and machinery sales operations.
This role oversees the servicing and repair of agricultural and construction machinery, manages parts inventory, supports machinery sales, leads a small team and ensures exceptional customer service while maintaining compliance with workplace health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Workshop, Maintenance & Repairs
Oversee the servicing, maintenance and repair of agricultural and construction equipment, including tractors, implements and associated machinery.
Schedule and prioritise workshop jobs to ensure efficient turnaround times.
Monitor workshop productivity, quality of workmanship and customer satisfaction.
Assist with technical troubleshooting and provide guidance to technicians where required.
Ensure repairs are completed safely, efficiently and to manufacturer standards.
Parts & Machinery Sales
Lead by example in achieving new and used parts sales targets.
Promote and sell new and used agricultural and construction machinery.
Prepare machinery quotations, trade-in assessments and sales documentation.
Build long-term customer relationships through professional advice and after-sales support.
Identify opportunities to increase machinery, parts and accessory sales.
Work with customers to recommend equipment and parts best suited to their operational needs.
Parts & Inventory Management
Oversee inventory control, purchasing and stock replenishment.
Work closely with workshop staff to ensure timely parts availability for repairs.
Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, supplier information and inventory.
Ensure parts are stored safely and efficiently.
Conduct regular stock checks and annual stocktakes.
Manage warranty claims and supplier returns where required.
Respond promptly and professionally to customer enquiries and resolve issues effectively.
Lead, mentor and support workshop technicians and parts interpreters.
Coordinate daily workloads and departmental operations.
Provide ongoing coaching, training and performance feedback.
Foster a positive, customer-focused and safety-first workplace culture.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers.
Source quality parts and machinery while negotiating competitive pricing and delivery terms.
Manage supplier performance and service agreements.
Deliver exceptional customer service before, during and after the sale.
Administration & Record Keeping
Maintain accurate workshop job costing and service records.
Prepare reports on workshop performance, inventory and sales.
Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and on time.
Utilise dealership management systems, cloud-based software and Microsoft Office effectively.
Safety & Compliance
Promote and enforce workplace health and safety standards.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and manufacturer requirements.
Maintain a clean,
organised and safe workshop and parts environment.
Drive continuous improvement in safety, productivity and customer satisfaction.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role you will have:
Previous experience managing a parts department, workshop, service department or machinery dealership within the agricultural, construction or heavy machinery industry.
Experience in machinery and equipment sales is highly regarded.
Solid leadership and people management skills.
Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
Proven experience in inventory management and purchasing.
Strong customer service, communication and negotiation skills.
Sound mechanical knowledge of agricultural and construction machinery.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Experience using dealership management systems, cloud-based software and Microsoft Office.
Ability to interpret parts catalogues and technical documentation.
Current Australian Driver Licence.
Forklift Licence (desirable but not essential).

This position is primarily based at GW TRACTORS (QLD) PTY LTD Slacks Creek branch and involves a combination of office administration, workshop management and customer-facing sales.
Occasional travel to customer sites, supplier locations or other company branches may be required.
Flexibility to respond to operational requirements outside normal business hours may occasionally be necessary.
