Distinctive Dental Mareeba is a well-established, privately owned four-surgery practice that has served Mareeba and the Atherton Tablelands since ****. We have a very long patient waiting list (currently 22 weeks to the next available appointment) so your books will be full from day one.
Why this role is different
Earn 40% of billings (net of lab fees), with a guaranteed minimum of $150,000 + superannuation
- you're paid whichever is greater. Our current dentists earn $220,000+ under this structure working just three to four days per week.
Full books immediately
- an established, loyal patient base across Mareeba and the wider Tablelands, with demand well beyond our current capacity.
No preferred provider agreements
- full clinical and fee autonomy; treat patients the way you believe is right, not the way a health fund dictates.
Work within your comfort zone
- with three dentists on the team, you can refer internally any procedures you'd rather not do (dentures, molar endo, surgical extractions, whatever isn't your thing) and focus on the dentistry you enjoy. Equally, if you want to grow into new areas, there's mentoring on hand.
Genuinely modern practice
: OPG + CBCT, digital radiography, intraoral scanner, CEREC, Fotona LightWalker and diode lasers, and Airflow.
Outstanding support
: seven experienced dental assistants across four surgeries, dedicated reception and admin - you focus on dentistry.
$5,000 relocation assistance + accommodation sorted
- accommodation in a lovely three-bedroom house, five minutes from the practice,



in the best residential area is available to rent from day one. No relocation scramble.
CPD allowance of $1,500 per year
and mentoring from experienced colleagues in a three-dentist team.

The role (full time, permanent)
Working in a fully equipped surgery with dedicated chairside support, you will:
Examine patients and develop comprehensive treatment plans
Provide your preferred range of general dentistry: preventive, restorative, endodontic, periodontic, prosthodontic, cosmetic and oral surgical procedures (with the option to refer internally any procedures outside your preferred scope).
Deliver high-quality dental treatments and outstanding patient care
Collaborate with colleagues to deliver the best outcomes for patients
Educate patients and build long-term relationships in a community that genuinely values its local dentists
About you
You are a dentist who:
Holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery or equivalent + current professional registration with AHPRA and professional indemnity insurance
Is proactive about ongoing learning and professional development
Communicates with warmth and professionalism
Has excellent clinical and communication skills and a professional chairside manner
Is comfortable working independently within a supportive team
New graduates with strong fundamentals and experienced clinicians are both encouraged to apply
