About the Role
As an Acting Family Educator, you play a key role in the school's Mission and Identity. You will help build strong partnerships between families, the parish and the school community, tailoring initiatives to meet local needs.
You will work closely with:
the principal and school leadership
parents and families
the parish priest and parish staff
the Religious Education Coordinator
wider church agencies.
About You
You are someone who lives their Catholic faith and brings it to life for others. You have a heart for ministry and a passion for helping families grow in their relationship with God and the Church. You will bring:
a strong and active commitment to the practice of the Catholic Faith as a baptised Catholic
experience in parish/pastoral ministry, such as but not limited to Sacramental program, family/children's liturgy, baptismal group, prayer groups
ability to articulate an understanding of the evangelising and catechising mission of the Catholic Church, and present church doctrine and scripture in the appropriate context of time, place and culture
competency and creativity in initiating, organising and facilitating a range of opportunities and forums to connect/reconnect and engage parents and families with the religious life of the school and parish
highly developed interpersonal, communication, presentation, time management and organisational skills
commitment to participate in and contribute to a formation program facilitated by the SCS Central Office
a strategic outlook and understands the school within the broader educational, ecclesial and communal context
refined project management skills to deliver agreed initiatives in a timely and effective manner.
You will have attained:
tertiary qualifications, preferably at Degree level
four (4) years' experience in teaching, parish/ecclesial ministry with adults and families, or as a Family Educator.
