About the Role

As a Catering Assistant, you will support the preparation, plating, and service of meals while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming kitchen and dining environment. Working closely with the Cook and care team, you will help ensure residents receive nutritious meals and enjoy a positive dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist with meal preparation and service
Clean and sanitize kitchen & dining areas
Maintain food safety and hygiene standards
Support kitchen staff as needed

What We’re Looking For:




Minimum one year experience as a catering assistant in the aged care industry or in a comparable role and industry
Sound knowledge of food safety standards, including safe food handling, storage, and infection control practices
Understanding of catering operations and dietary requirements within an aged care facility, including modified diets and texture-modified meals
Solid attention to detail and effective organisational skills to support timely and accurate meal service.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact respectfully with residents, families, and staff.
Ability to contribute to a positive dining experience, including meal presentation, resident engagement, and maintaining cleanliness of the servery and dining areas.
