An exciting opportunity exists for an appropriately skilled Registered Nurse to join the Division of Medicine at RNSH as Inflammatory Bowel Disease Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 (CNS2).
Working in collaboration with Gastroenterology consultants, the successful candidate will be instrumental to the implementation of this position, using clinical judgement and nursing assessment in the management of patients with IBD, including the management of therapies to reduce flare ups, and supporting clinical review in an outpatient setting.
They will support strategies for hospital avoidance, provide patient and carer education, and assist in the transition of care from paediatric environments to adult care, in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Candidates Will Need To Meet The Following Criteria




Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with at least 3 years' experience working in gastroenterology and relevant tertiary post graduate qualifications, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.
Demonstrated experience working with patients with IBD and a proven ability to undertake assessment, and to formulate and implement appropriate care strategies as part of a MDT.
Demonstrated excellent verbal communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Demonstrated ability to provide clinical case management co-ordination or skills which would enable exceptional patient case co-ordination.
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, within a multidisciplinary team and be able to prioritise and manage competing demands.
Demonstrated experience in leading and initiating activities to improve clinical service delivery and patient outcomes.
