About the Client & Role
Randstad Trades & Labour has partnered with a leading manufacturing site based in Wetherill Park to secure an experienced Maintenance Electrician.
In this exciting plant role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, testing, and troubleshooting the electrical, electronic, and automation systems across the facility.
Working closely with mechanical fitters, production supervisors, and engineering managers, you will play a direct role in keeping operations safe, reliable, and running at peak performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Manufacturing & Plant Maintenance: Install, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial electrical systems, building installations, motors, control panels, wiring, and automation systems.
Breakdown Response & Troubleshooting: Rapidly resolve electrical breakdowns to minimize downtime, identify root causes, and perform repairs and recommissioning alongside mechanical maintenance fitters.
Automation & Diagnostics: Read and interpret electrical schematics; diagnose and support PLC, SCADA, and factory database control systems.
Testing, QA & Compliance: Perform monthly safety inspections, routine electrical testing (including lead tagging and calibration testing), test new installations, and ensure full compliance with Australian Electrical Codes and WHS regulations.
Engineering & Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with the Engineering Manager on continuous improvement, machinery design modifications, capacity upgrades,



and Lean manufacturing projects.
Documentation & Safety: Maintain accurate work logs, material usage records, and compliance documentation while participating in safety risk assessments.
On-Call Support: Respond to emergency breakdowns and participate in the site's on-call rotation as required.
What We're Looking For:
Licensing & Qualifications: Tertiary or Trade Qualification with a current NSW Electrical Licence (Qualified Supervisor).
Technical Capability: Strong practical understanding of PLC and SCADA control systems, manufacturing equipment, and integrated pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Trade Expertise: Solid grounding in electrical engineering principles, building systems, and preventative maintenance methodologies.
Standards & Safety: Thorough knowledge of contemporary Australian electrical standards, WHS regulations, and safety testing practices.
Problem-Solving & Collaboration: Excellent diagnostic skills with a team-first mindset- able to communicate effectively across production, engineering, and trade teams.
Desirable: Registered Cabler license is highly regarded.
