Tasmanian Aboriginal Legal Service is seeking a full-time Aboriginal Liaison Officer Team Leader based in Hobart, TAS.
Reporting to the Community Engagement Manager, you will support the day-to-day leadership of a statewide ALO team while remaining hands-on in intake, assessment, client support, and community engagement.
This is an identified position, open only to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.

DutiesProviding day-to-day support, leadership, and guidance to Aboriginal Liaison OfficersSupporting culturally responsive practice across intake, assessment, referrals, and client supportAssisting clients and staff to navigate legal, social, health, housing, and community service systemsAdvocating for equitable access to services and coordinating appropriate referrals and supportsMaintaining respectful relationships with Tasmanian Aboriginal communities, Elders, Aboriginal organisations, government agencies, and stakeholdersAssisting with ALO policies, procedures, onboarding, induction, and role-specific trainingSupporting recruitment, leave coverage, and performance-related matters as requestedMaintaining accurate records and reporting data using organisational systemsTaking a hands-on approach to intake, eligibility, and non-legal client support Skills & experienceIdentify and be recognised as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person under the Commonwealth definitionCurrent registration to work with vulnerable people in Tasmania, or willingness to obtainCurrent national police history check, or willingness to obtainRelevant qualifications in social work, youth justice, counselling, or a related discipline will be highly regardedExperience in case management, community services, youth work, justice, client support,
