Casual Support Worker - LGBTQIA+ Community
Support work that actually means something.
Queerly Supported is a new NDIS service provider built specifically for the LGBTQIA+ community.
We provide community access and social support to LGBTQIA+ people with disabilities who deserve services designed with them in mind, not retrofitted as an afterthought.
We're hiring casual support workers across Brisbane and surrounding areas who get it.
Not just the NDIS.
The lived experience of being part of the LGBTQIA+ community and understanding what it means to walk into a service and wonder whether you'll be protected to be yourself.
What the role looks like
You'll be supporting participants across Brisbane and surrounding areas to access their community, build social connections, and engage in activities that matter to them.
That could look like accompanying someone to a social event, supporting them to try something new, helping them build confidence in spaces they've previously avoided, or simply being a consistent presence from someone who understands their world.
We currently have immediate available shifts with more shifts coming as we grow.
What we're looking for
Lived experience in the LGBTQIA+ community.
This isn't a box we're ticking.
It's central to the service we're building.
Our participants want to work with people who understand their identity without needing it explained.
Some NDIS experience is great, but it's not a dealbreaker.
If you've worked in disability, community services, mental health,



or any role where you've supported people to live their lives with dignity, that counts.
We care more about how you show up than what's on your resume.
A current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to get one).
A current Working With Children Check.
A current First Aid Certificate.
A valid driver's licence, a reliable car and must be willing to travel.
What actually matters to us
You treat people like people, not case files.
You understand that being queer or trans and having a disability means navigating two systems that often don't talk to each other.
You're reliable, because consistency is one of the most important things a support worker can offer.
You're comfortable with not having all the answers and honest enough to say so.
You want to be part of building something that doesn't exist yet rather than slotting into something that already does.
