We're partnering with a well-established, medium-sized insurance group to appoint a Financial Reporting Manager into their Group Finance team. The organisation have excellent work life balance, a stable, high performing finance team and offer hybrid working arrangements (two days in office, three days from home).
Reporting to the Head of Financial Reporting, you'll lead a small team and take ownership of the delivery of statutory and regulatory reporting, while playing a key role in technical accounting, process improvement and projects across the finance function.

Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor and develop a team of two finance professionals.
Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.
Oversee statutory reporting and financial statement preparation.
Ensure compliance with APRA, ASIC, AASB and IFRS reporting requirements.
Review balance sheet reconciliations and maintain a strong financial control environment.
Partner with auditors and coordinate the year-end audit process.
Provide technical accounting advice across the business.
Drive process improvements and automation initiatives within the reporting function.
Support finance transformation and broader strategic projects as required.

About You
CA or CPA qualified.
Experience within the insurance industry is essential.
Strong background in financial, statutory and regulatory reporting.
Solid understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and in particular IFRS 17.
Previous leadership experience, or ready to step into your first people management role.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
