Latrobe Regional Health is looking for Haematology Symptom and Urgent Review Clinic Coordinator to join our growing team on a full time (1.0EFT) ongoing basis, Part Time is also available.
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate
Haematology SURC Clinical Nurse Coordinator
to join our Ambulatory Services team. This specialist nursing role provides timely assessment, triage, advice, and coordinated care for patients receiving haematology treatments and those with non-malignant haematological conditions. Working closely with the Haematology Nurse Practitioner and multidisciplinary team, you will support patients throughout their treatment journey, ensuring secure, evidence-based, and patient-centred care while contributing to service development and quality improvement initiatives.

The role of the Haematology Symptom and Urgent Review Clinic is to:
Provide telephone triage and clinical assessment of treatment-related symptoms and side effects using established tools and evidence-based guidelines, including UKONS triage pathways.
Coordinate the care and ongoing monitoring of haematology patients receiving oral therapies, including pathology surveillance, follow-up, and management of treatment-related risks.
Support high-risk haematology patient surveillance, investigation follow-up, and communication with the multidisciplinary team to ensure timely clinical interventions.
Assist the Haematology Nurse Practitioner and medical team with patient assessments, care coordination, and treatment planning.




Contribute to transfusion coordination, inpatient haematology liaison, staff education, and support for bone marrow aspiration and trephine (BMAT) procedures as required.
Participate in clinical trials support, professional development activities, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and service delivery.
About you
Ideal candidates for this role will have:
Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration and a minimum of three years' nursing experience, including at least two years in haematology, oncology, or a related specialty area.
Strong clinical assessment and triage skills with the ability to identify, prioritise, and manage complex patient needs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient-centred approach to care.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while managing clinical responsibilities independently.
Strong organisational, coordination, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic clinical environment.
Committed to evidence-based practice, continuous professional development, quality improvement, and delivering exceptional care to patients with haematological conditions.
