Position Information
Wamberal Public School has a student population of 482 students, with 20 mainstream and three inclusive education classes. Nine percent of students identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and seven percent identifying as EALD (English as an Additional Language/ Dialect) The school is a proud member of the Tuggerah Lakes Learning Community and Tuggerah Lakes Principals Network. We work in close partnership with Kuriwa AECG to strengthen student outcomes for our Aboriginal students through culturally responsive practices, meaningful collaboration, and community engagement. Our staff are committed to explicit teaching, high potential and gifted education, and strengthening collaborative teaching practices to drive continuous improvement in student growth and achievement in literacy and numeracy. The school promotes a wide range of well-being practices underpinned by P.B.L. to ensure students have opportunities to thrive, connect and succeed. Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach. In addition to the general selection criteria,
Demonstrated ability to lead instructional expertise by building collective efficacy,
cultivating a culture of high expectations, and implementing the department's priorities, to support the success of all students.
Proven ability to provide visible and authentic leadership that builds strong relationships, strengthens culturally responsive partnerships, and creates an inclusive culture that enables every student to thrive.
General Selection Criteria
1 . High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
2 . Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
3 . High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
4 . Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
5 . Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
6 . Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching chance.
