Position:Domestic and Family Violence Program Officer
Employment fraction: 0.5 FTE, 12-month fixed-term (with potential extension subject to funding and review).

Purpose:To design or adapt, implement and evaluate a prevention of DFV training and capacity-building program for clergy, pastoral staff, and parish councils, ensuring practice aligns with the Ten Commitments , and the Anglican Church's Code of Conduct: Faithfulness in Service.
Key Responsibilities and alignment with the Ten Commitments
• Develop or adapt a structured training program (including content, delivery modes and resource materials) that teaches equality, respectful relationships, freedom from violence and the value of every person, in line with the Ten Commitments.
• Ensure training and associated materials are informed by current local, state, and national DFV frameworks and referral pathways, and remain up to date with industry networks, conferences, and best practices.
Keep up to date on the latest relevant research, conferences, and resources.
• Assist in the development of procedures for preventing and responding to domestic and family violence, which align with the Ten Commitments and the Diocese's Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence Policy.




• Encourage high levels of stakeholder buy-in and create promotional materials for the rollout of training and equipping in DFV prevention.
• Establish evaluation frameworks and tools to measure training uptake and effectiveness, changes in attitudes and practice, areas for improvement, progress towards implementing the Ten Commitments, and to report regularly to Diocesan leadership on findings.
• Provide a point of contact, support, and referral for people disclosing experiences of domestic and family violence, coercive control, and gender inequality in church communities consistent with Faithfulness in Service.
• Connect stakeholders to referral resources, activities and events relating to the prevention and response to all forms of gender-based violence, such as the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence and DV Aware Sunday.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
• A degree-level qualification in Social Work, or a tertiary qualification in Social Science, Community Services, Psychology, or another relevant discipline, with experience commensurate with the position.
• An active member of the Anglican Church, and/ or be supportive of the values of the Anglican Diocese of Adelaide, including equality, mutual respect, safety, justice and adherence to Faithfulness in Service.
• Strong understanding of DFV dynamics, trauma-informed and victim‐survivor‐centred practice,



and current South Australian DFV policy and service system.
• Demonstrated experience in domestic and family violence practice, including one-on-one support, training design and delivery, program review, and practice improvement, preferably within community, faith-based, or human services settings.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite to produce program-related materials.
• Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work respectfully within Anglican faith communities and with diverse groups, including older people and culturally diverse communities.
Reporting and Relationships
• Works within the Office of the Archbishop of Adelaide and reports to the Assistant Bishop.
• Works closely with: Bishop's Office, Ministry Wellbeing Coordinator, Survivors' Advocate, the Domestic and Family Violence Working Group, clergy, pastoral staff, parish councils, and relevant external DFV services.
Other requirements
• Be eligible for or hold a Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance.
• Hold or be willing to obtain a secure ministry clearance as required by the Diocese's Safe Ministry screening process for church workers.
• Hold a current full driver's licence.
• Conform to all conditions of appointment, policies and procedures.
• Be prepared to travel both intra- and interstate as required, and to work flexibly, including some weekends and evenings.
• Be based at the Anglican Diocese of Adelaide offices, 18 King William Rd, North Adelaide, with off-site work.
