Heidelberg Primary School School Age Care Program (HPS SAC) is proudly operated by School Council and is a highly regarded and integral part of the school. We aim to provide children who attend HPS with a childcare and education program of the highest possible standard in a safe, secure, nurturing and stimulating environment. As of ****, the HPS SAC Program maintains a strong regulatory standing, holding an overall rating of Exceeding National Quality Standards.
The HPS SAC Program, with a licensed capacity for 140 children, includes a wide variety of experiences that are planned and implemented in a friendly and relaxed environment, which accounts for children's social, emotional, intellectual, language, physical and creative needs. In this way the Program endeavours to complement the school's activities and be consistent with the school's policies and practices.
This position offers the successful applicant the opportunity to join a well-organised program, with support from a wonderful team of educators.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a fulltime (38 hours per week) position. Current hours are *****am‐ 6.00pm, but flexibility could be negotiated between hours of 7.00am‐6.00pm. The position is in school terms only; our school does not operate a vacation care program. Although the position is posted as fixed term, there is potentially scope for further term of employment.
We are seeking applicants with relevant qualifications as approved by Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority [ACECQA] for Outside School Hours Care Services (ie: minimum Certificate III in Child Services)
Applicant Expectations
Have an understanding of, and work towards, the highest accreditation principles outlined by the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority [ACECQA];
Contribute to the development and implementation of the Service's Philosophy, Policy and Procedures & the My Time, Our Place primary framework;
Have a current First Aid Certificate (Level 2), Asthma and Anaphylaxis, and ensure compliance with safe food-handling requirements.
Salaries and conditions are set by the Education Support Class Salaries in Victorian Government Schools. This position is a
Level 1, Range 4
position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate delivery of administrative services within the School Age Care (SAC) Program, including all regulatory and compliance expectations
Determine and manage day-to-day work priorities within the SAC Program in consultation with the Principal and School Council.
Develop strategies to ensure effective administration procedures are implemented, including coordination of requisitioning and purchasing procedures.
Maintain SMARTCENTRAL software, including student, staff and school records, ensuring that bookings, childcare useage and Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is managed and up to date
Coordinate staffing requirements,
including recruitment and timetabling.
Lead and direct staff to ensure that age-appropriate program planning and activities, supervision and child safe standards are implemented
Manage staff Performance and Development process, supporting professional development opportunities.
Liaise with school leadership to ensure the program is aligned with school values, and to ensure support requirements are met
Selection Criteria
SC 1 - Demonstrate knowledge of the guidelines (National Standards) and experience with the Quality Assurance process and ability to implement the National Quality Framework for Early Childhood as it relates to School Age Care (SAC) Children's Services.
SC 2 - Demonstrate the capacity to provide leadership and management of a large team, to supervise others in planning and implementation of a high-quality program.
SC 3 - Strong experience using the SmartCentral system or preparedness to learn, and to meet the school's high expectations in the management of the program's documentation using this system.
SC 4 - Demonstrate a commitment to qualified learning and growth for both self and others.
SC 5 - Demonstrate sound communication and interpersonal skills with all stakeholders, including management team, children, parents, colleagues, school staff and the wider community with a commitment to excellent customer service.
SC 6 - Extensive working knowledge of child safe standards and proven experience in implementing child safe practices and promoting a culturally safe and inclusive environment.
