. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the private fibre network we work within. Your job will include installing, and maintaining fibre optic cabling infrastructure that connects homes to high-speed broadband networks. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliable delivery of telecommunications services to our customers, working both in the field and potentially in controlled environments on other projects. This position is integral to our mission of expanding and maintaining modern telecommunications infrastructure across the region.
Please note
: whilst experience is an advantage, this role is within a private network and therefore training is required to bring any person, experienced or not, up to the required level of expertise. We are willing to train the right person with the right attitude and skills to fulfill this role, even if you have no experience in this industry.
Key responsibilities
Install, test, and commission fibre optic cabling systems in residential properties
Conduct fault diagnosis and troubleshooting of telecommunications cabling networks
Maintain detailed records of installations, test results on our apps.
Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and telecommunications standards
Collaborate with other technicians and project teams to meet installation schedules
Provide technical information at the time of installation to customers regarding their fibre connections
Operate and maintain specialised telecommunications testing and installation equipment
Respond promptly to changes in schedule as required
Work directly under management and within an area team and wider team environment.
Provide reliability through practices of excellent organization and time management.
What we're looking for
Recognised qualifications in telecommunications cabling or a related field is an advantage




Proven experience installing and maintaining fibre optic cabling systems is an advantage
Proficiency with fibre optic testing equipment is an advantage
Fibre splicing experience is an advantage
Strong understanding of telecommunications standards and best practices is an advantage
Knowledge of and interest in health and safety regulations is very important, we need people who care about health and safety
Excellent attention to detail and precision in technical work or equivalent
The ability to follow process every single time
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical capability and interest to perform outdoor installation work in different weather conditions
Valid
manual
driver's licence
Strong communication skills and a positive attitude, with good customer service orientation, as well as the ability to represent our company well on the field
Great problem-solving abilities, persistance and a willingness to learn current technologies

All new Technicians are trained by a Team Leader or senior Technicians for a period of time until they reach the required competencies of the role.

work laptop and all the major tools required for the position which come with the van and are replaced by the company. We supply you with your first set of hand tools, which you can replace as necessary with your built in tool allowance as part of the Award. Parts of your uniform are also supplied by the company which includes tops, shirts, jumpers, PPE, hats, sunscreen and rain jackets. You are to provide your work trousers, steel capped safety boots, all in good condition.
