SportsPick runs in hundreds of venues across Australia. Getting a venue signed is one thing. Keeping them active, engaged, and getting real value from the product. You keep venues winning with SportsPick - that's this role.
What you'll actually do
You own venue retention for SportsPick. That means you're watching the data; which venues are using the product, which ones are dropping off, which ones are only scratching the surface of what it can do, and then doing something about it.
Some of that is picking up the phone and re-training a venue manager whose staff have turned over. Some of it is showing a venue they're running AFL tipping but haven't touched racing, and walking them through what they're leaving on the table. Some of it is spotting a venue going quiet three weeks before they cancel, and getting in front of it.
Day-to-day, that looks like:
Monitoring venue usage data to identify at-risk accounts and opportunities to deepen engagement. Not just reading dashboards but acting on what they tell you.
Proactively contacting venues for re-training, product updates, and relationship check-ins.
Delivering onboarding training for newly signed venues, making sure staff are confident on SportsPick from day one.
Maintaining and updating training materials as the product evolves. If a new feature ships and venues don't know about it, you'll be there to drive adoption.
Acting as the link between Sales and Operations. When Sales signs a venue, you make sure the handover into onboarding is clean. When new features launch, you make sure Sales can talk about them properly.
Handling escalated venue support when primary and secondary support are at capacity.
You're not frontline support but you're the person who steps in when it matters and feeds recurring issues back to the ops team.
The setting
This is a field-first role. You'll spend more time in venues than at a desk, checking in with managers, running training, building the relationships that keep venues active. You'll have access to one of our spaces when you need it, but the job is won face-to-face, not behind a screen.
Some Saturdays are part of the deal as venues don't operate on a Monday-to-Friday rhythm (and neither does this role). It's not every weekend, but if you need your Saturdays completely off the table, this isn't the right fit.
You'll work closely with the SportsPick Business Manager, the Operations Manager, and the sales team. You'll be talking to venues nationally; managers, club operators, and their staff, so you need to understand those environments.
What you need to bring
2+ years in customer success, account management, retention, or a venue-facing hospitality role. You've kept accounts active and you can show how.
Strong relationship skills. You can re-engage a disengaged venue manager without it feeling like a sales call.
Comfort with data. We're not looking for an analyst, but you need to look at usage numbers and know what they're telling you.
Confidence delivering training - in person and remote - to venue staff who didn't ask for it and have other things to do. That takes a specific kind of energy.
A working knowledge of Australian sport. You don't need to be an expert in AFL, NRL, racing, but you need to hold a conversation at the bar.
Self-motivation. This role has a lot of autonomy.
Experience with SportsPick or a similar sports tipping product.
A background in hospitality, gaming, or entertainment.
Experience with CRM or venue management tools.
What's in it for you
$80K + company bonus plan + super
5 wellness days per year, on top of standard leave
Hybrid arrangement - field-first with access to office space when you need it
Free on-site parking when you're in the office
Laptop provided
