Sourcify Pty Ltd About the Role The Quality Assurance Manager plans, organises, directs, controls and coordinates MNB's organisation-wide quality systems, product assurance and certification processes.
The position ensures that imported, locally sourced and private-label products meet approved specifications, customer requirements and applicable Australian quality, safety, labelling, packaging, traceability and regulatory standards from supplier approval through receipt, storage, distribution and post-market review.
As a Quality Assurance Manager, you will: Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement and continuously improve MNB's Quality Management System, quality policies, standard operating procedures, document controls, risk registers and measurable quality objectives across procurement, product approval, importation, warehousing and distribution.
Plan, coordinate and lead quality-system reviews, internal audits and external customer, certification or regulatory audits; identify system and workflow improvements and ensure audit findings and corrective actions are completed.

Establish and manage a risk-based supplier approval and monitoring program; assess supplier capability, quality systems, certifications, test reports, product specifications and regulatory documents, and conduct or arrange supplier audits where required.
Liaise with local and overseas suppliers to ensure products are supplied to approved specifications and that quality failures, documentation gaps and repeated non-conformances are promptly rectified.
Direct pre-purchase and new-product quality approval, including review of product composition, specifications, testing, certificates, safety data sheets, shelf life, warnings, packaging artwork, instructions and claims before products are ordered or released.
Establish incoming inspection, sampling, quarantine and release controls; authorise the acceptance, conditional release, rework, return,
rejection or destruction of non-conforming goods.
Maintain effective product identification, batch or lot traceability, expiry and stock-rotation controls across the warehouse, including controls for damaged, returned, recalled, short-dated or potentially unsafe stock.
Manage customer complaints, product incidents and non-conformances; lead root-cause analysis, corrective and preventive action (CAPA), effectiveness reviews, trend analysis and supplier corrective-action requests.
Develop and test product withdrawal and recall procedures; coordinate stop-sale, stock isolation, customer notification, regulatory reporting, product recovery and post-recall review when required.
Use quality metrics, statistical methods and trend data to monitor supplier, product, warehouse and customer quality performance and provide regular reports and improvement recommendations to senior management.
Lead quality training and provide authoritative advice to purchasing, product, warehouse, sales and customer-service teams on quality systems, product specifications, regulatory compliance and escalation requirements.
Monitor customer perceptions of product quality and timeliness, respond to major customer quality requirements and ensure contractual quality obligations are incorporated into MNB's systems and supplier controls.
Exercise authority to quarantine or stop the purchase, release or dispatch of any product where quality, safety, compliance or supporting evidence is inadequate.
Requirements: Bachelor degree or higher qualification in Quality Management, Quality Systems, Food Science or Technology, Chemistry, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Regulatory Affairs or another relevant discipline.
At least five years of highly relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualification.
Minimum three years of relevant quality assurance, supplier quality or product compliance experience in FMCG,
importing, wholesale distribution, food, consumer products, cosmetics, chemicals or general merchandise, including demonstrated responsibility at a supervisory or managerial level.
Demonstrated experience developing, deploying and improving organisation-wide quality systems, operating procedures, audit programs and certification or accreditation processes.
Strong working knowledge of Australian consumer product safety and product compliance requirements, with the ability to identify and interpret standards and regulatory obligations across diverse product categories.
Proven experience in supplier qualification, product specifications, technical-document review, laboratory testing, incoming quality controls, non-conformance management, CAPA, complaints, traceability and product recalls.
Demonstrated ability to analyse quality data, prepare management reports, manage competing risks and make defensible product-release or rejection decisions.
Strong leadership, audit, investigation, stakeholder-management and written communication skills, with the confidence to challenge commercial decisions where quality or compliance evidence is insufficient.
Competence with quality-management, inventory or ERP systems and Microsoft Office; formal training in internal auditing, HACCP, ISO **** or root-cause analysis is highly regarded.
Key Performance Expectations: Quality and compliance approval is completed before high-risk products or new suppliers are accepted.
Supplier, product and technical files remain complete, current and auditable.
