As a Handyman & Village Support Officer - Retirement Living, you'll be at the heart of maintaining a safe, clean, and well-presented village that residents are proud to call home.
This hands‐on role is driven by a commitment to resident wellbeing and service excellence, combining cleaning responsibilities with a variety of maintenance, gardening, and community support activities.
Working closely with the village team, you'll help ensure the environment remains welcoming, functional, and enjoyable while making a meaningful difference in the daily lives of our residents.
You Will:
Maintain high standards of cleanliness across the village and common areas
Support general onsite maintenance and gardening activities
Assist with the set-up and pack-down of activity rooms and village functions




Support waste management processes and ensure work areas remain safe and organised
Use cleaning equipment, chemicals, and personal protective equipment (PPE) safely and effectively
Identify and report maintenance issues, hazards, and incidents in a timely manner
Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide a safe, welcoming, and resident‐focused environment
What We're Looking For
Experience in cleaning, maintenance support, gardening, or similar hands‐on roles
Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team setting
Strong communication and customer service skills
A proactive attitude and willingness to assist across a variety of tasks
Understanding of workplace health and safety practices
Current Driver's Licence and willingness to drive as part of the role
Essential Requirements
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status (or as required by legislation and WMQ policy)
Relevant probity checks in accordance with legislative and organisational requirements
