The Opportunity
Fremantle Hydraulics is seeking a motivated 2nd or 3rd Year Mechanical Fitter Apprentice to join its highly skilled team in Henderson, WA.
This is an excellent opportunity to continue your apprenticeship with an industry leader in hydraulic equipment and system design, manufacture, sales and servicing.
Since ****, Fremantle Hydraulics has been innovating and improving fluid-powered machinery for the defence, marine and offshore, mining, and transport industries.
Located at the Australian Marine Complex, Fremantle Hydraulics operates a state-of-the-art workshop featuring advanced manufacturing equipment, the latest computer-aided design technology, testing facilities, and purpose-built machinery.
This role is ideal for an apprentice looking to transfer their training contract and further develop their skills in a specialised hydraulic engineering environment.
Job Details
As a 2nd or 3rd Year Mechanical Fitter Apprentice, you will continue developing your trade skills while gaining valuable hands-on experience working alongside experienced tradespeople and hydraulic specialists.
Your duties will include:
Dismantling, repairing and assembling hydraulic and mechanical components
Performing fault finding and diagnostics on hydraulic systems and equipment
Using hand, power and precision measuring tools
Conducting general machining and fitting tasks
Installing, testing and maintaining hydraulic components and systems
Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
Following protected work practices and isolation procedures
This opportunity allows you to continue and complete your MEM***** Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitting) while gaining exposure to specialised hydraulic systems and precision engineering projects.
You'll work on a diverse range of equipment and systems used across the defence, marine, mining and transport sectors, providing valuable experience in a highly specialised field.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Currently undertaking a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitting) and be in your 2nd or 3rd year of apprenticeship
Demonstrated experience working in a workshop, manufacturing or industrial environment
Sound mechanical aptitude and a genuine passion for the trade
Experience using hand and power tools
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship
Current driver's licence
The ability to successfully pass a Pre-employment Medical and Drug & Alcohol Screen
