Required Skills
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
Valid and unrestricted medical license in the state of Texas
Certification in American Board of Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or related field
Experience with general medicine, compensation & pension exams, or health assessments
Excellent interview and physical assessment skills
Ability to evaluate patients efficiently and document findings accurately
Strong professional ethics and adherence to federal and state regulations
Nice to Have Skills
Prior experience in Veterans Affairs (VA) or military healthcare settings
Knowledge of Compensation & Pension exam protocols
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR)




Bilingual abilities are a plus but not required
Preferred Education and Experience
Medical degree from an accredited institution
Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in general medicine
Prior experience performing compensation and pension or disability evaluations is advantageous
Other Requirements
Candidate must be within 50 miles of Houston, TX, for onsite or telehealth options
Commitment to completing all required training and certifications
Ability to perform interview-based assessments with some physical examinations
Willingness to regularly complete follow-up administrative work (addendums, reports, diagnostics)
No prescribing or treatment involved; focus on assessments only
Local candidates preferred; travel expenses included in pay rates
