About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Remedial Building Consultant and Engineer to join a growing team of technical specialists. This is a client-facing role where you'll manage remedial projects from initial investigation through to completion, providing expert advice, preparing technical documentation, and overseeing project delivery.

Working across a diverse portfolio of commercial, residential, strata, and institutional buildings, you'll be responsible for diagnosing building defects, developing practical remediation strategies, managing contractors, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys combining technical consulting with project management and building strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct building defect investigations, façade inspections, and diagnostic assessments
- Prepare detailed technical reports, remedial scopes, and project specifications
- Develop practical remediation solutions for façade, waterproofing, structural, and building envelope defects
- Manage remedial projects from investigation through design, tendering,



construction, and completion
- Coordinate engineering consultants and review technical documentation for compliance
- Administer tender processes and evaluate contractor submissions
- Act as Superintendent, managing contractors and monitoring quality throughout construction
- Conduct site inspections, quality assurance reviews, and critical stage assessments
- Prepare project budgets, monitor financial performance, and manage project timelines
- Build solid relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders
- Lead project meetings and provide regular technical updates to clients
- Mentor junior consultants and contribute to continuous improvement across the business
- Provide Expert Witness services where required

Skills & Experience

- Minimum 5 years' experience within the remedial building, façade, or building consultancy sector
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Strong knowledge of façade systems, waterproofing, concrete remediation, structural defects, and building envelope performance
- Sound understanding of the National Construction Code (NCC) and relevant Australian Standards
- Experience managing remedial construction projects from investigation through to completion
- Excellent report writing, communication, and client management skills
- Strong project management, organisational,



and leadership abilities
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a collaborative team
- Experience providing technical advice and delivering high-quality client outcomes
