Safety, People & Site Coordinator - Food Manufacturing

Seeking Safety, People and Site Coordinator - Manufacturing
Role Overview:

- This position combines workplace safety, people & culture support, facilities management, and operational administration within our Melbourne manufacturing site.

- Working closely with site leadership and supported by the Head of People & Culture and HR team, this role plays an important part in maintaining a safe, organised, and people-focused workplace while supporting a positive employee experience and site culture.

Workplace Health & Safety (Approx. 30%)

- Develop and maintain WHS policies, procedures, and safe work instructions

- Conduct safety inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments

- Lead incident reporting, investigations, corrective actions, and safety records management

- Coordinate return-to-work and injured worker management processes

- Coordinate WHS inductions for employees, contractors, and visitors

- Deliver toolbox talks, safety training, and awareness initiatives

- Oversee emergency management planning, evacuation drills, and equipment compliance

- Liaise with regulatory bodies, auditors, contractors, and emergency services as required

People & Culture / HR Support

(Supported by Head of People & Culture and HR Senior Officer)

- Recruitment & Onboarding

- Coordinate onboarding activities including police checks,



pre-start medicals, inductions, and training completion

- Ensure employee documentation and compliance records are completed and maintained

- Support recruitment activities and onboarding preparation

- Employee Support & HR Administration

- Provide first-level support for employee queries, leave processes, and HR administration

- Maintain employee records, training matrices, and HR systems

- Assist with performance review coordination and employee documentation

- Support employee wellbeing, engagement, and site culture initiatives

- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive matters

Facilities Management

- Manage contractors and suppliers for building maintenance and site services

- Oversee essential services and AESMR compliance activities

- Manage waste, utilities, cleaning, gardening, pest control, and general site upkeep

- Coordinate office supplies, site consumables, and maintenance activities

- Ensure facilities, amenities, and shared spaces are maintained to a professional and safe standard

- Training, Documentation & Operational Support

- Coordinate site training activities including GMP, safety, onboarding, and compliance training





- Maintain training records and training matrix documentation

- Support the creation, review, and tracking of SOPs, work instructions, and operational documentation

- Support QMS documentation control and tracking activities

- Support production, engineering, warehouse, quality and supply chain teams with operational administration and coordination

- Manage procurement of site consumables and operational supplies, ensuring stock availability and cost control

- Provide general operational and administrative support across teams as required

- Support quality, compliance, and continuous improvement activities across the site as required

About You

- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (required)

- Previous experience in workplace safety or WHS coordination is required

- Experience coordinating return-to-work and injured worker management processes is highly regarded

- Experience in administration, HR support, facilities, or operational support preferred

- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

- Confident communicator with a practical and proactive approach

- Able to work autonomously while building positive relationships across teams

- High level of professionalism and confidentiality
