About the role

HES Business Group Pty Ltd is seeking experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanics and Automotive Electricians to join our team in Broken Hill, Far West NSW. This is a full-time rostered role, with FIFO, DIDO, or residential options available for the right candidate. You will be responsible for the diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of heavy diesel and mining equipment on-site.

What you'll be doing

- Diagnose and repair a wide range of mining and earthmoving equipment
- Conduct scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on all assigned vehicles and equipment
- Maintain detailed records of all work completed and parts used
- Identify and address potential issues before they become problems
- Work closely with the wider maintenance team to maximise equipment uptime
- Adhere to all relevant health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures

What we're looking for

- Trade certificate in the relevant trade is required for this position
- Comprehensive knowledge of mining and earthmoving equipment and the ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of machinery




- Underground mining equipment experience is desirable but not essential for this role
- Experience with Caterpillar, Sandvik and Epiroc equipment is desirable
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to identify and resolve issues efficiently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to liaise with team members and customers
- Commitment to safety and a demonstrated track record of working safely in a high‑risk workplace
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
